What’s Cooler Than Bein’ Cool?

Sweater Dress – Smart Set, Hat – Nasty Gal, Boots – Melrose Flea Market (Los Angeles)

I hope 2015 is treating everyone well and you’re all surviving this frigid Canadian winter!

With this extreme cold weather we’ve been having it’s all about the turtlenecks for me! I’ve stocked up on a few but I especially love the wine colour of this sweater dress.

Luckily, my reading week is right around the corner and I get to spend a week in the L.A. sun…sorry to rub it in ;)

Tis’ the Season…For Shopping

Blouse – H&M, Blazer – Forever 21, Jeans – Topshop, Bag – MATT & NAT, Shoes – BC

The countdown is finally over! Today is the first day of the Toronto Christmas Market in the Distillery District! I can’t wait to for all the great holiday shopping, performances and of course, the mulled wine.

Before the Christmas Market started I just had to get this MATT & NAT Cork Bag at Heel Boy before it was out of stock, and let me tell you, I am obsessed! I have been carrying this cork bag all over town. I specially like MATT & NAT because it is a vegan brand, meaning that there aren’t any animal products used in production.

This bag goes well with any outfit, but I especially like it with this Forever 21 blazer, and my Top Shop boyfriend jeans (or “mom” jeans as my boyfriend likes to refer to them as). This blazer was also a great find as it dresses up any outfit! I’ve been using it for work, school presentations, and even a night on the town!

Hope you all have a great weekend! If you decide to partake in some Black Friday madness, please be safe and shop responsibly—no B.U.I’s this weekend (Buying Under the Influence) ;)

Dress – Forever 21, Jacket – Wilfred, Hat – Urban Outfitters, Boots – Hunter

As you may remember from my last post, I’ve been looking for a new jacket, and I finally hit the jackpot at Wilfred! I wanted to stay away from black this year…maybe not too far…so I had my eye out for something in grey. This was definitely an investment piece, and I’m looking forward to having it for the next couple of years.

I decided to invest in some rain boots as well. I picked up these burgundy Hunter boots from Heel Boy in the Distillery District and they’ve been coming in handy with this rainy weather we’ve been having. This is my first time introducing rain boots into my closet and I chose these sandhurst nylon lacquer boots that offer a slimmer leg and ankle width than the original rain boot. These boots also have a matte finish and can be paired with tights, leggings or pants to offer timeless style.

Looks like I got my jacket just in time for the snow today! Stay warm everyone!

Fall Into Fashion

Blouse – Forever 21, Sweater – H&M, Boyfriend Jeans – Topshop, Leather Jacket – H&M, Purse – JustFab.com, Shoes – BC Footwear (from Heel Boy)

It’s that time of year again – it’s all about the pumpkin spice lattes, and time to stock up on cozy sweaters and new boots. Fall is my favourite time of the year!

A couple weeks ago, I finally found a pair of boyfriend jeans that fit! I’ve been searching for a while, and finally found a pair at Topshop that I fell in love with. Needless to say, I will be stocking up with about five more pairs.

I also recently bought these cut out booties from Heel Boy, in the Distillery District. I love that they can easily be dressed up or down, and the tassle on the side is a fun little feature.

Though I may be a little late, the next item on my shopping list is finding the perfect fall jacket!

Too School For Cool

Dress – Buffalo Exchange, Sunglasses – Patch, Boots – Melrose Flea Market (Los Angeles)

Well it’s back to the books for this girl. School started last week meaning summer is officially over for me and all of my fellow students out there.

Overall I had a great summer. I spent many weekends cottaging, had the chance to visit friends in LA, ventured around Toronto, and had my fair share of patio drinks. To top it all off, I landed a job at Heel Boy right before the summer ended – can’t wait to start adding to my shoe collection ;)

I guess I can go back to school satisfied, knowing that I had a great summer…time to flip the switch and get back into school mode.

Wake me up when September ends…

Another trip to add to the books!

I had a great time on my trip to Los Angeles. It was awesome catching up with old friends and visiting some of my favourite restaurants and boutiques from back in the day. I made a point to stop at one of my favourite shopping spots, the Melrose Flea Market. I of course had to stop myself from overindulging but I came out with some good pieces to add to my closet.

It was an exciting trip yet again, from checking out new bars to going to Malibu and getting the car towed.

Until next time!

Get L’eau

Dress – Varga, Sunglasses – Melrose Flea Market (Los Angeles), Shoes – Forever 21

And the countdown begins! Only a couple more days until I head to Los Angeles for vacation. I have been waiting for this trip for months and on Thursday I finally get to visit my old stomping grounds and catch up with old friends!

During my stay, I plan to relax on the beach, visit some of my favourite bars and restaurants, and of course I have to do some shopping.

In fact, the dress I am wearing in this post is from a little boutique in LA that I used to spend a lot of my time at…and money.

Can’t wait till Thursday!

Top – Garage, Shorts – Vintage Boutique (Los Angeles), Sunglasses – Patch, Chain Necklace – H&M, Gun
Necklace – Wildfox Couture, Booties – Heel Boy

As most of you know I live in the Distillery District in Toronto. There are plenty of things to do in this area, including dining at the various restaurants and cafes, going on brewery or history tours, and not to mention visiting the unique boutiques that populate the red brick streets.

A while ago, a new shoe store, Heel Boy, opened up and I have been dying to check it out. For my birthday I was given a gift certificate to the store and finally decided to treat myself to a new pair of shoes…or two. I came out with these incredible leather cut out booties that I am wearing in this post along with another pair that I just had to have.

Can’t wait to put some mileage on these new kicks ;)

Flashback Friday

Dress – Wildfox Couture, Sunglasses – Forever 21, Boots – Melrose Flea Market (Los Angeles)

I stumbled across these photos that I had taken a couple months back in the distillery district. I bought this Wildfox Couture dress during my last couple weeks of living in LA, and it takes me back to those memories every time I pull it out my closet. Speaking of which, I’ll be visiting some friends in LA in a couple weeks. Can’t wait!

Have a great weekend everyone!

My Feel Good Song Of The Day: Slightly Stoopid – Closer to the Sun

25 to Life

As some of you may know, I became a proud member of the Quarter Century Club this weekend – and what a weekend it was.

It started off with my boyfriend surprising me with a romantic (or what was supposed to be) bicycle wine tour in Niagara-on-the-Lake…45

I was so excited to see the picturesque landscape and get a taste of what the Niagara wineries had to offer…

The idea was to have a nice, relaxing day biking from winery to winery but twenty minutes in…torrential downpour…

The rain might have ruined my hair and outfit, but it wasn’t going to ruin my day. By the end of the tour we were acting like kids again, riding through the puddles and splashing each other. It was a great day, which included visiting four wineries and of course, sampling 3 or 4 different wines at each ;)

Just when I thought the day couldn’t get any better, I arrived back in Guelph expecting to be greeted by my family for a simple birthday dinner, but was instead shocked to find a surprise party of my closest friends and family members waiting to celebrate with me. They sure know how to make an old gal feel special!

I want to thank everyone for making this one of my best birthdays yet! Obviously these photos aren’t going to win a Pulitzer Prize anytime soon but that doesn’t mean they still aren’t worth a thousand words (thank you Steve Jobs for blessing us with the iPhone and making this blog post possible).

Looking forward to seeing what 25 has in store for me!
